A permanent is a card that stays in play until it is destroyed once it is put there. Permanents are played like slow actions (including all the limitation as to when they can be played) that when they resolve put themselves into play. When on the stack they are considered actions.

They have the following property in addition to the basic card properties and the properties of actions:

Name Example Meaning
Restore cost 0Electric 1Protein 1Lay The energy cost that must be paid during your restore step to maintain this permanent.
Endurance 9 The amount of damage this permanent can take before it is destroyed. [1]

Notes

  1. In the past, only characters had endurance. Now all permanents have endurance. To make the transition easier tools get endurance equal to their restore cost and installations get endurance equal to double their play cost.
